We are looking for an experienced Livestock Manager to join our Animal Care Team at Cattle Country Farm Park. Every year we welcome 130,000 visitors to Cattle Country and our Animal Barn is a hugely popular attraction within the park - you will be working closely with our management team to give the very best experience to our visitors and care to the animals that we keep.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Supported by our Animal Care Team, you will be oversee all aspects of husbandry for our calves, sheep, pigs, ponies, deer, goats and alpacas as well as our small animals and poultry
Feeding, cleaning out and caring for our animals, making sure that we comply with the highest standards of animal welfare
Responsible for all paperwork and record-keeping relating to our animals; this includes movement records, opening/closing checks, administering medicines, health checks and making sure that we are compliant with our Animal Activities Licence
Managing breeding programmes and birthing among our cattle, sheep, pigs, alpacas and goats, assisted by the wider team
Working with our Maintenance and Farm teams to make sure that all of our animals have appropriate housing, paddocks and enrichment
Administering medication and working with our veterinary team on a vaccination programme
Purchasing animal feed and supplies, and working on feeding plans
Organising a schedule of Animal Barn Activities throughout the year including animal petting, lambing, lamb bottle feeding, sheep racing, and interacting with our visitors to educate and entertain them
Training the wider team to carry out the daily tasks, host Animal Barn Activities, Educational Visits and our Tractor Rides – regularly reviewing the content to make sure that it is relevant to the time of year and audience
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness and ensure that all areas of The Animal Barn are well-maintained and presented to a high standard throughout the year
Ensure that the Animal Barn Team comply with industry guidelines for livestock activities
Working with the Farm Park Manager to plan and risk assess Animal Barn activities
You will also provide ad hoc support to our farm team on our 500-head beef herd
Job Requirements
You must have at least 5 years of hands-on experience of working with livestock in an agricultural environment
Agricultural qualification or Further Education in a relevant subject. Applicants with significantly more relevant experience would be considered without a formal qualification
Extremely high standards of presentation and care for our livestock at all times
An excellent communicator – with the wider team, the Animal Barn team and our visitors
Highly organised - planning ahead to make sure that we always have new animals and an exciting schedule of activities running in The Animal Barn for our visitors
Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the breeds we keep
A friendly, calm and confident manner with excellent customer service skills
A flexible approach and able to work additional hours when required
Due to our rural location, having your own transport is essential. Previous experience of using farm machinery would be advantageous but full training will be provided to the right candidate
This is a full-time role working 5 days per week and you will be required to work at least one day each weekend
Salary dependant on experience.

Maintaining medical records and daily paperwork
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness and ensure that all areas of The Animal Barn are well-maintained
Working with our Farm Park Manager and Livestock Manager to facilitate Educational Visits to Cattle Country
You may also be required to work in other roles within the Farm and Farm Park so this role would suit someone who is confident working as part of our wider team
Job Requirements
You must have previous experience of working with livestock, and a qualification in a relevant field
Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the breeds we keep
A friendly, calm and confident manner with excellent customer service skills. When the park is open this is a public facing role and you will be expected to interact with our visitors

Each year we want to bring the magic of Christmas to Cattle Country, and to do that we need to find the perfect Father Christmas!
As Father Christmas, you will be responsible for creating a magical experience for our visitors, providing a unique photo opportunity and a memorable visit to Cattle Country.
From the moment you arrive on your sleigh, you will bring the Cattle Country Christmas experience to life so you must be confident, friendly and able to engage with visitors of all ages. Previous experience would be an advantage.
This is a part time role and you must be able to work weekends and holidays until 23rd December.

To support our growth plans for the business, we are looking for an experienced and skilled maintenance person to assist with ongoing maintenance work and new projects, as well as maintain a safe environment for our visitors.
The successful applicant will possess a wide range of building and construction skills, including carpentry, plumbing, and groundworks with plant machinery.
We're looking for dynamic individuals who can bring new ideas to our diverse hospitality and leisure business. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar or relevant environment and enjoy working on a variety of different projects throughout the year.
Duties will include:
Checking and maintaining equipment in the Farm Park
Maintenance of the Farm Park and buildings
Working on new attractions and projects within Cattle Country Farm Park, GRAZE Café, The Barn at Berkeley and our farm
Ground works using on site plant equipment
Job Requirements:
A practical person with a broad range of relevant skills
Good attention to detail
Confident working independently and alongside other team members
Flexible and able to work additional hours when required
Metal fabrication and basic mechanical knowledge would be an advantage
Our maintenance team our required to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis
Additional training and support will be offered to the successful candidate where required.
This is a full time role and the rate of pay will be dependent on experience and qualifications.

We are recruiting Supervisors to support our Managers with the smooth day-to-day running of Cattle Country Farm Park, GRAZE Café & The Barn at Berkeley.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a diverse hospitality and leisure business, so it will suit someone with previous experience in a similar or relevant environment such as retail, leisure or a visitor attraction in a customer facing role. We are always looking for ways to enhance the customer experience, improve our social media channels and seasonal events, and our Supervisors will have the opportunity to progress within the business and make a real difference to the running of our Farm Park, Café and Wedding Venue.
Each Supervisor will work in one Primary Business Area, but all Supervisors will be trained to work across multiple areas of the business, to provide to support to other Managers when required and enable them to take more shifts. Our Supervisors will be supported by the teams in each area.
Key areas of training and responsibilities
Deputising for, and working alongside our Managers and Assistant Managers our Supervisors will also lead one team in the Manager's absence being the main point of contact for that business area during opening hours
Work alongside other Managers and Supervisors to ensure the smooth running of the business
Delegating the daily tasks and ensuring that a high standard of customer service is delivered at all times
Be highly organised and able to use initiative to solve problems
Assist with training new starters and junior team members
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, setting an example to the wider team
Arranging staff lunches
Deal with customer questions
Have a smart and professional appearance
Be flexible and able to work additional hours when required
Have a good understanding of all business areas and the site layout/locations
Hours: This is a part time contracted role, working 8-24h per week with the opportunity to work full time hours in holiday periods

In the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside, The Barn at Berkeley is a traditional Cotswold stone barn wedding & events venue.
We are recruiting for Experienced Front of House and Bar Staff to join our busy team working at weddings
6-12 hour shifts available to include serving Welcome Drinks, Canapes & The Wedding Breakfast and Bar work throughout the day and evening
