The talk will take place in our animal barn and lasts about 30 minutes. It is customised to suit the children’s age.
During the talk the children will learn about the different types of animals we have here at Cattle Country including why we keep them, about the animals needs/husbandry and they’ll learn about the impact farming has on each and every one of our lives including the different types of farming that help put food on our tables.
If you are learning about something specific in your curriculum we are happy adapt our speech to meet your needs with prior notice.
Please be aware that we are a working farm and we believe in educating children about food and farming. If this does not suit your pupils or school ethos please let us know and the educational talk can be cancelled.
-
We do not offer animal handling during our school visits but after the educational animal talk the children will be given some animal feed and they can hand feed our goats and sheep.
Your group will then exit via our farm trail where the children can meet some more of the animals they have just learnt about.
Depending on what time of year you visit we may have lambs, goat kids or piglets!

The tractor trailer rides are no longer available for school visits.
